John Borthwick is a technology investor currently in the process of setting up an early stage fund -- something in-between microlending and an operating company.  Prior to this John was Senior Vice President of Alliances and Technology Strategy for Time Warner Inc. His New York based team was responsible for working with Time Warner's divisional CTO's to drive technology strategy and form cross divisionsal technology deals with Microsoft, Google, HP and Sony.

John came from AOL’s Advanced Services Group. This team was formed in February 1997 when John sold his company to America Online. John's company, WP-Studio, founded in 1994, was one of the first content studios in New York's Silicon Alley.    John holds an MBA from Wharton (1994) and an undergraduate degree BA in Economics from Wesleyan University (1987).
