Things You Should Know!
Coburn Ventures, LLC ("Coburn Ventures") is a financial services company dedicated to the study of change. We analyze and describe the impact of change in technology for consulting clients. We also publish a subscription-based newsletter Waypoints and serve as an investment advisory firm/ investment adviser to a hedge fund (the "Fund").
You should understand a few things about our publications, our consulting services and our advice to the Fund.
First, some of the articles in Waypoints or on this website may be written by our employees, fellows or agents, some of whom also provide consulting services to our clients or work for the Fund. Under no circumstances does any information contained in any of our publications or on this website represent a recommendation to buy or sell a security. In fact, neither the authors of any articles or publications nor any Coburn Ventures team member can provide investment advice, money management assistance or respond to individual requests for recommendations from this site. You also should know that the views expressed in any article, commentary, or other publication on this site or published by us or on our behalf do not necessarily reflect the views of any of our consulting clients or the Fund. You should verify all information (including anything you see or hear about here) provided independently and consult your own advisors.
Second, anything that we do write about and in fact, all of the content on or referred to our site, is based on sources believed to be reliable and in good faith, but no representation or warranty, express or implied, is made as to their accuracy, completeness or correctness. In many cases, we may not and have not independently verified the information contained therein. You shouldn’t use our content or commentary as the sole basis of any investment decisions. You should review a complete information package on all companies, which should include, but not be limited to, the company's annual report, quarterly reports, press releases and all regulatory filings. You also should know that opinions expressed on this site or in our publications are statements of judgment as of the date of publication and are subject to change without further notice, and may not necessarily be reprinted in future publications or elsewhere. Neither Coburn Ventures nor any of its team members, fellows, managers, officers, or employees/consultants accept any liability whatsoever for any direct or consequential loss arising from any use of its publications or their contents. From time to time, we also may include hyperlinks to other web sites operated by parties other than Coburn Ventures and other resources and advertisers. Such hyperlinks are provided for member's reference only. Coburn Ventures is not responsible for the availability of these external sites nor is it responsible for any of the contents, advertising, products, or other materials on such external sites. Our inclusion of hyperlinks to such web sites does not imply any endorsement of the material on such web sites or any association with their operators. Under no circumstances shall Coburn Ventures be held responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any loss or damage caused or alleged to have been caused in connection with the use of or reliance on any content, goods, or services available on such external site. Any concerns regarding any external link should be directed to its respective site administrator or webmaster.
Third, our consulting clients and the Fund may have different trading patterns or portfolio strategies that may be contrary to or different than what is said here, in Waypoints or in our articles, newsletters or commentary. For example the Fund buys and sells securities on behalf of its fund investors and may do so, before and after any particular article or commentary herein is published regarding a security discussed in that article, commentary or posting. The Fund’s analysis and appraisal of a company's prospects is only one factor that affects its decision whether to buy or sell shares in that company. Other factors might include, but are not limited to, the presence of mandatory limits on individual positions, decisions regarding portfolio exposures, and general market conditions and liquidity needs. As such, the Fund’s trading patterns may not always be consistent with views expressed on this site or in any of our publications, including Waypoints. In fact, conflicts may arise between the content in any of our publications and the interests of the Fund or a consulting client. We don’t pre-screen the editorial content of any of our publications with anyone prior to their appearance on the site or in print. Click here for additional information on our policies relating to the Fund.
Fourth, please understand that nothing on this site or in any of our publications is intended to be an offer to sell our consulting services or any interests in the Fund. In particular, interests in the Fund are not offered to the general public and are available only to qualified eligible investors. Investors must have the financial ability, sophistication, experience, and willingness to bear the risks of an investment in the Fund, after consultation with their own advisors.
Formalities aside, we encourage your feedback and welcome your comments on any of the articles or content on this site or in any of our Waypoint’s newsletters.
